Our Horses

Benny -Quarter Horse

Benny is rocking his teens giving confidence and support to riders of all levels.  This big guy has a heart of gold. He has been on many adventures in his life but by far he is excelling in human connection!  He will lay his head against you and read your energy. No fooling this guy with fake smiles and "I'm fine"! He has been consistently reading pain levels in clients with great accuracy. Let him help you naturally promote healing and pain control. He is also amazing with physical disabilities and anxiety!

SPIRIT- American Mustang

Spirit is one of 2 orphaned Mustangs we rescued when they were 2 months old. The mothers were harvested and the foals were left to die. Through Chilly Pepper Rescue we were able to get them and raise them into healthy, happy 2 year olds! They were starving and ill when we got them but with patience and time they have grown and healed! Spirit is very perceptive of humans.  She has been willing to do anything we ask and is ready to be started for riding later this year. She provides herself to those who have lost. She can sense it and is always drawn to the grieving. She has helped heal my daughter in ways I can not fully understand.  She can be pushy and knows how to test boundaries, making her ideal to help people who need to learn how to reestablish their own boundaries. By watching and taking her cues, you can find your inner wild and empowered self and create lifetime habits that will help you in leadership, creating healthy boundaries, and showing your needs.

Storm-

American Mustang

Storm is the second of our Mustang rescues. Storm came to us in critical condition. I named her Storm because from day one I could see the unsettled storm like mindset. She had been taken from her only safety, her mom, and left to die. Her body wanted to give up but her will and mind wouldn't let her. She was harder in every way, compared to Spirit. Spirit guarded her. She made me learn more about natural horse behavior than any other horse I have been with. As a scientist I always wondered about nurture vs nature, well Storm is the perfect subject. Her natural wild instincts are there, always. She has been nurtured by us and is turning into quite the horse but when pushed or scared she still has that flight instinct. She will make you work for her respect. She will challenge you. She will make you find your natural rhythm and make peace with it. We aren't destined to be what we were born in to BUT one can not ignore one's start. It's from accepting our start that we can CHOOSE our future. That is what Storm can do for you. She is small and petite and hasn't been started under saddle but will teach you tons on the ground if you let her.  She also is super empowering for anxiety and PTSD.

Willow

Willow came to us when she was just 6 months old. She came with her mom, Aspen.  Willow was born in a lot just in time to save her and her mom.  She was saved by an amazing woman, Stacie, who let them get healthy and grow.  We visited with them and it was an immediate connection.  Stacie allowed us the pleasure of bringing them home to rehab Aspen and work with Willow.   Then after weaning at a year old, Willow was injured by Aspen by a wayward kick. Willow's lower lip and jaw were completely degloved and hanging with bone exposed.  We rushed her to our amazing vets and we all were very guarded with her prognosis to survive BUT Dr. Corigliano did surgery that night and several times after that night.  Willow was hospitalized for over a month but with lots of care, prayers and money she survived!!  We continued her care here and now she has fully recovered with the exception of some missing baby teeth and a little lip numbness.  Through all of this Willow NEVER offered a problem. She allowed things to be done to her that even seasoned horses would have to heavily sedated for. She never struck out to anyone in pain, never kicked out, never ran from people to avoid pain! She is a rock and she was made for this journey and will help heal many people through her story and her heart.

Sundance

Outlaw

Rowdy

These 3 beauties are on lease from Stacie.   She didn't have an immediate use for them in her program but knew we were in need after loosing our oldest horse.   They have so many different talents but one thing in common, they are SAFE, SANE and READY to help heal you!

K.C. (Karmas Chrome N Gold) - Quarter Horse

K.C. is our "baby". She was our first baby born here in 2022. She is all baby in a big body.  She is learning all the things a good horse should. She isn't necessarily a "therapy horse" yet but she sure enjoys trying and is dubbed one of the 3 amigos. She is bigger than Spirit and Storm and is a whole year younger!  She is gentle, kind and is willing to help any way she can. Once she grows up she will hopefully be a competitive reining horse with Kayla then come back to give us more beautiful horses and be a therapy horse.

Taffy (SRR Built Ford Tough) - Paint (yes really)

Taffy is only available for therapy riding for those who know how to ride.  He is my daughters high school equestrian team horse but has the disposition to be a true asset in therapy work. He is BIG but his heart and goofiness are even bigger. He will take your hat, play tag and all kinds of amazing ground fun.  He is a perfect option for someone wanting to lighten up a little and enjoy your now. He also is very perceptive to injury and energy. He will let a sincere toddler lead him and be gentle as the wind but a cocky adult might meet their own energy reflected in him. He is a testament to the horses sense of self.  Are you looking to truly release past pain, trauma and anger? Taffy can help you do that!

Suni  (Rain N Gold)- Quarter Horse

Suni is our broodmare. She actually is my therapy horse. She had a very unfortunate life early on and was injured badly which cut her showing and riding career short. I beleive at some point someone has been VERY hard handed with her and she is very head shy and aloof.  When I met her, I KNEW she was supposed to be my horse.  She reminded me of myself. A strong mother who has been on the back burner but shows up every day giving her all. She doesn't NEED people, so if she CHOOSES you ....what an honor. She has built up her walls for self preservation. She isn't mean and will do whatever you ask, whoever you are, but will only do it because of training.  UNLESS...unless your energy speaks to her. Then you will know the honor of connecting with a strong, beautiful soul. She makes me slow down, appreciate what I have. She reminds me that being a mother is the most amazing and exhausting job. She allows me to show her love and affection and gives the same in return.  She is the mascot for those who CHOOSE to be alone because it's just easier. Let her show you how to CHOOSE to allow the chosen ones in by having standards and your own non negotiable rules. Let her show you that you have the POWER to control who impacts your soul. You can have many acquaintances in life and use your "training" to deal with them but allowing some to prove they are worth the authentic you is pretty amazing too!

Suni is expected to deliver a new baby May 2024!!!  **** Baby is HERE!  CeCe was born in the early morning of May 9, 2024. She is a beautiful AQHA buckskin filly.

Aspen

Aspen and Willow are the newest members of our herd. Thanks to the amazing gift from a wonderful local horsewoman, with a heart of gold, we were blessed with this rescue. Aspen is unhandled and was saved from a feed lot only because she foaled while there. Willow was born in the feedlot and has been exposed to humans. Aspen is so distrustful of people but we have worked and are making slow progress. She will not be used for therapy in the foreseeable future and is off limit to visitors for safety. This doesn't mean she is not valuable to our program! She can certainly relate to people who have trauma based responses and the same slow progress she is making can be made for you as well.
